Harris, Accardo Shine in Arizona Fall League

Former New York Collegiate League players Brendan Harris and Jeremy Accardo had productive fall campaigns in the prestigious Arizona Fall League.

Harris, who played for the Amsterdam Mohawks (then Schenectady) back in 1999, ended the fall season with a .376 batting average, which was fifth best in the league.  He played for the Peoria Saguaros.  Harris was a fourth round selection in 2001 by the Chicago Cubs out of William and Mary.  He has a better than .300 lifetime batting average in the minor leagues in his five years of service and has seen time in the big leagues in both 2004 and 2005.  He is currently in the Washington Nationals organization.

Accardo played for the Allegany County Nitros (then Wellsville) in 2002.  He ended the fall with the Mesa Solar Sox and had a 4.30 ERA in 14 innings pitched.  During the 2005 regular season, Jeremy appeared in 28 games at the big league level for the San Francisco Giants, compiling a 3.94 ERA in 29 2/3 innings pitched.  He signed as an un-drafted free agent out of Illinois State in 2002.
